India Dance South West
Since being established in 2014, India Dance South West has had much success. The well received professional show "Navarasa" in Exeter Phoenix brought India Dance South West into the public eye and has since been running regular classes. A well as professional shows, the company has provided some educational workshops and short performances at community events both professional and by the local students.
Vibha Selvaratnam
India Dance South West is lead by dancer Vibha Selvaratnam. Vibha is not only one of the India Dance Wales' most gifted dancers, but is also recognised as one of the top young dancers in the UK having been invited to perform at several young dancer showcases. Vibha trained in Bharatanatyam with India Dance Wales from a very early age and performed her Arangetram (professional debut performance) in 2008. She was the first in the world to achieve the highest ISTD Vocational qualification for Bharatanatyam dancers and gained a distinction for it. Her outstanding dance recital tour in India resulted in a great review published in Indian's leading newspaper The Hindu, which propelled her onto the international dance scene. Vibha continues to actively perform, choreograph and teach throughout the country.
